The Language of Humidity

In the high humidity of the South, writing is not permanent. Moisture warps paper, bleeds ink, and fosters mold. Here, language and text—the very roots of culture—are not static. They are in a constant, breathing dialogue with their environment, a process of absorption and resistance.
My installation captures this dynamic relationship, exploring how a specific climate can shape and even dissolve cultural identity. The project translates the subtle connection between climate, material, and culture into an interactive experience, using tangible humidity data to drive the behavior of visible text.
